· Bryan Cranston is officially everywhere. Not only does he appear in Larry Crowne, the upcoming Drive, and Total Recall (plus the new season of Breaking Bad, which debuts in July), but the three-time Emmy winner has also signed on for Argo. He’ll play an Irish CIA agent from Boston (obviously) in the Ben Affleck-directed Iranian hostage thriller, which already has Alan Arkin, John Goodman and Affleck himself in the cast. Nice roster of talent right there. [Variety]

· Take this with a grain of salt, but: Once director John Carney told the Sunday Post Business Online that Scarlett Johansson has agreed to play the lead in his new film Can A Song Save Your Life?, from executive producer Judd Apatow. Song follows a struggling singer who falls for an A&R guy at the end of his rope. “I went out to Los Angeles to meet Scarlett a couple of months ago,” Carney told the Post Business. “She was everything you could imagine — very hot, elegant and she’s really smart.” If this all comes together, Carney says that Johansson will do plenty of singing in the finished production.
